Australia: female prisoner dies in Brisbane prison

A 51-year-old female prisoner died at Brisbane Women’s Correctional Centre in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A statement from Queensland Corrective Services confirmed the death of the woman, who was found by staff about 4.20am.

The woman was in a single cell in the residential area. Staff commenced CPR immediately and called an ambulance but the woman could not be revived.
